Good point. You need to add one more component: regulation. We need to grow, process and brand Canadian quality and safety. We have let our regulatory system descend into the level of the American ones. And much of the world doesn’t want that standard. With the PMs bridges to the EU we have the opportunity to adopt their well researched standards and open up new markets. Easy peasy to adopt and transition.
The second area of course is monopolization in the sector. The ABCD gang in the seed and chemical and marketing. The 3 big processors with 80% of the market. They don’t innovate. They buy up innovation and financialize it. It’s the nature of big business.
Thanks for raising this and furthering the conversation. Also yea Arlene.
Arlene, a true canadian
Arlene Dickinson is exactly the type of entrepreneur we need. Intelligent, with a conscience.
