Thx excellent info presented clearly. But fiscally responsible, not a chance. If they were they would increased taxes to balance the budget but more importantly provide services we are willing to pay for.
An interesting comment last month presented a case to increased taxes to BC level which is second lowest and then we would be tied for lowest but at least have adequate health care and other services the UCP says we can't afford. Can't afford is idealogy not politics, and as the UCP deliberately is underfunding Healthcare to ideologically privatize it as well as so many other services it is Idealogy not serving Albertans

I grant that MSM pretty much been bought by the far right, even so far as CBC. BUT C’mon people, this outrageous behaviour on virtually everything on pretty much every single day, needs to be out there.
The NDP has been talking. No one is amplifying their voice and they have zero power to do anything in our ‘democratic’ first past the post system. To the winner go ALL the spoils.
You’re truly absolutely right Pam. Since I read your comment earlier, I’ve been trying to think of how to get a much better message out. I did post a great “beak off” about MSM, which included one about the grievous failures of CBC. Got busy. Now can’t remember in response to substack I’d been reading. Expect I’ll hear about it. I usually get some people “yelling” at me. I don’t know if it’ll help. I’ll be doing some work for Edmonton Gold Bar early in August, and helping with Heather McPherson’s barbecue. So I’ll get a chance to get some info and hopefully strategies. Thank you so much for the response. Got me thinking beyond my “crank.”
Why Albertan’s are not more angry about the constant misuse of our tax dollars is beyond me. They yell and scream about paying taxes which are required to support society but say diddly squat re their tax dollars being misused. That is the more serious offense.
A-Greed. They brag about Alberta being the richest province; but fail to mention the lowest minimum wage across the country, healthcare crumbling (their responsibility), education crumbling (their responsibility), and social services crumbling, folks on AISH pushed over the edge.
These are not examples of “Good Government” folks.
