I’m currently using a large bottle of Eco Max and have a different Canadian brand on the shelf to try when that is finished. Once that bottle is done, I’m going to try Down East detergent because I’ve been using their dishwashing liquid for some time. I really like it and it’s made right here in Dartmouth, NS.
I spent the morning finding Canadian products to replace the household products we use that aren't Canadian, with a preference for those that offer refills to reduce packaging. I didn’t even look at sheets for laundry soap. I didn’t expect them to work particularly well. I had landed on Nelie's. Now I need to go look at sheets. 😊
I really like your articles. They are so informative and give me ways that I can make changes in my own house. Personal choice makes a difference when many join together. It is hard to weed out which companies are Canadian and US and the fine details.
I used to post this months ago. If we all can shift our spending to Canadian businesses…even just $50/month, it makes a massive difference. And that small amount is like one digital service and a few product changes. I go shopping now and my purchasing has dramatically changed. Last time I only bought 2 things that were US. There was no alternative. USers aren’t getting rich off of me that is for sure. My spending habits won’t change back for any reason. We don’t have to cut out 100% US. But it all makes a difference.

Norwex out of Manitoba is excellent. Much less product needed to clean. Shipped to your door. Just look for a representative near you.

I started buying Old Dutch laundry detergent during Covid. It’s about half the price of the major name brands and I believe it is made in Quebec.
Is there a Canadian source of washing soda. It’s essential to my dishwashing, but I would rather not use Arm & Hammer if it’s American.

Nellie's is great detergent. No odor, nobody is allergic to it and heap per load.

Use Laundry Sheets (True Earth , Kelowna BC) and locally made sheep’s balls in dryer. ( The sheep won’t mind , they just donate the wool 🤪).

Turns out we've been using Also.Green products for over a year. All BC sourced and manufactured. Works well!
