24 Sussex was built in 1867, a momentous year for Canada. At the same time, we are at a pivotal time for the future of Canada. I would like to see the grandeur and history of the house respected in a future-forward, state-of-the-art edifice that celebrates our French, English, and Indigenous roots.
It's going to be an interesting choice. Do we keep the exterior, with all is history or do we go completely new? I believe we have great talent in canada to be able to come to a stunning solution.
It’s all good, but it’s shameful that it’s come to this. That we need to do a “Go Fund Me” campaign to refurbish the Prime Ministerial home disgusts me. There needs to be a standard process in place to properly maintain public heritage buildings and upgrade them as required.
We don’t HAVE to do a GoFundMe. But if we don’t, people like you are going to scream. We use tax dollars? You’ll scream. We use corporate donations? You’ll scream. We don’t do anything at all? You’ll scream.

I believe a modern civilized country should have a proper taxation supported system to properly maintain its infrastructure. The fact that all political parties have sat back and allowed this precious heritage to deteriorate this badly is embarrassing.
